It really has destroyed its credibility totally over Trump.

The Sunday shows 60 Minutes, whole fake piece last night.

How did this happen?

Right.

Look, I write about a terrific piece in the Columbia Journalism Review of all places by a former New York Times investigative reporter named Jeff Girth.

And he's a real investigative reporter in the sense that he does these deep dives

and doesn't come up for air for a year or more sometimes.

And he does this brick-by-brick reconstruction of what the mainstream media,

primarily the New York Times and Washington Post, did starting in the 2016 campaign

and continuing through the Trump presidency. So it really is an incredible

piece of work that he did. And he follows several major stories that these papers did

and how wrong they turned out to be. And yet how they stand by them and just keep repeating them.

He talks about the fact that the New York Times used the phrase more than 1,000 times,

use the phrase, people familiar with the matter or something like that, in order to shield

anonymous sources.

And anonymous sources, of course, in this case, most of them were FBI agents like Peter

Strzok, others were members of Congress like Adam Schiff.

And so you get this real distortion that is largely shaped by partisans or enemies of Donald

Trump's in which they are shielded, their agendas are shielded, and you get this warping

of what's supposed to be news and it becomes this whole other thing.

And, you know, Mark, if it had stopped then, it would be one thing.
