Hey, yesterday's column called Grumpy Old Men. It's a brilliant column about the possible 2024 Biden-Trump rematch. What are the odds that it will be a Biden-Trump rematch?

Well, Mark, that's the $24 question. I mean, I was surprised that just surveying and doing some

reporting on this, how much feeling there is among the professional political class

that we are looking at a rematch of 2020 with Trump versus Biden.

You know, it's interesting because most in the polls, most people do not want this.

And that's because they, you know, so many Trump

supporters dislike Biden and vice versa that when you get to who wants a rematch, there aren't

many people left. But the political class thinks that it's very hard to take the nomination from either one of them as it stands now.

You look at the latest New York Times poll on Trump, and even considering that it's in New York Times,

it has them essentially doubling Ron DeSantis' support, 49 to 25, within the party.

Nobody else even breaks into double digits.

So Trump, if 49 is hardly an overwhelming number, but it's the biggest number, and that is the

problem with the way the nominating process works in the parties, of course,

is you go state by state.

And you have to either win each state or come very close, racking up delegates.

And it's just a process of elimination.

And when you start out with the biggest support

you're more likely to prevail you'll get the money

to continue and i think

something similar is likely on the democratic side

if joe bide and wants to run as surprising as that sounds if If he wants to, it will be hard to stop him
