We've never seen chaos like this.

It's just total chaos, the Trump administration.

But you point out he's kind of doing a master class in power politics, right?

Well, look, I think the shutdown effort that the Democrats were trying to make happen was such a reversal of the way these things usually play out.

Normally, it's the Republicans fracture, the Democrats win, because the media is going to blame the Republicans

no matter what happens. And so this time, Trump basically said, well, we're going to do it our

way, and if the Democrats shut it down, we'll blame them. And as a result, Schumer realized that the Democrats would be blamed,

and there was no future in sight. There was no way they were going to reverse the process.
