And then about 30 seconds after that, everyone tries to leave.

A million people coming into Times Square tonight.

Nope, I am not going to be one of them.

Hell no.

But one guy that's got to be there in a white shirt is the Chief of Patrol for the NYPD, John Shell.

Chief, how are you?

Hi, Rob. How are you doing? Happy to you and all your listeners.

So you're ready for tonight? What's going on?

Well, we've got this small event going on called the Lee-Z ball

with an estimated 1.2 million people coming to take part in the festivities. But all kidding aside, obviously,

it's just a worldwide event that ends the year for the NYPD. But we do this often. We're

always going to be ready. We have multiple layers of security with our federal and local partners from the air to the transit cops down below,

to the uniform cops on the street, to our counterterrorism bureau, our intelligence bureau,

our federal partners.

All the assets will be out tonight just to make sure rain or no rain

that we keep everyone safe and close out this year and start again in 2025.

So when I was Westchester County Executive, we were part of the Joint Terrorism Task Force

and we would get updates on anything that we had to watch out for.

We had, you know, hard targets in Westchester with Indian Point or you got malls or Metro North.
