Well, thanks for doing this. Let me go back to the very beginning. I just want to start at the beginning.

We all heard when this started that it's going to be four days, the superpower, Russia will just run right over the Ukraine. Were you stunned that they lacked basic things like night vision or precision smart bombs?

Weren't you stunned at how unsophisticated this army was?

Yeah, we were surprised.

I mean, most of us at the Institute for the Study of War, we did not think it would be

as quickly, remarkably,

as our intelligence services were saying, you know, in a week or two,

we knew the Ukrainians would put up a better fight than that.

But clearly, we also underestimated the capacity of Russian military,

and it started almost immediately, Mark, with this very ambitious plan to take down the entire country, the second largest country in Europe, and attack on four separate axes, all of them requiring their own logistical infrastructure and air power.

That would have been a very ambitious plan for the United States.

And for Russia, it was just way beyond their capability.

And then, as you mentioned, the equipment that we were used to see and then advertised

and certainly on videos and everything, a lot of it didn't show up.
