Jake, Novak, how you doing? Oh, I'm doing so well. I'm so relieved, Mark,

that the death ceiling Armageddon is not here. I was ready to go into my bunker. I had those

50-year food supply things, you know, I was always, I mean, you know, the scare tactics that they

throw out at us. Yeah, nothing would happen.

No.

And spoiler alert, not only is nothing going to happen, but they're always going to spend more money.

And they're always going to spend more than that's coming in.

You know, in the two of our lifetimes, there's only been one time in American history where they've taken in more than they were spending out.

And that was during the late

years of the Clinton administration with the Republican Congress that forced him to cut the capital

gains tax. And then all of a sudden, all these new tech companies, they were new at the time,

were bringing in a lot of money that they didn't expect. If Congress expected that kind of

money, they would have overspent, but it was a surprise that was coming out of a recession. And other than that, you know, when they think they're, you know, they don't care. And they're just going to drive up the costs. And what we really need to talk about in this country is find a way where we still give Congress the right to have some oversight or at least the power of spending, but the day-to-day

spending choices are made by people who don't have to buy votes for a living. You know what I mean?

It's like allowing the referees in football to make their money from betting on the games.
