it gets, but you're an expert on all these sort of matters. What the hell is going on in Israel right now?

Well, you know, when the state of Israel was established, believe it or not, I know the jokes about Jewish guys and being lawyers and things like that, but they did not expect the legal system there to be a major, major, play a major role in society.

And so they gave them basically a lot of free reign because they didn't expect them to have so much power.

But the issue in Israel, ever since its founding, is this ridiculous system where,

imagine if this was a system here in the United States.

The Supreme Court in Israel can appoint its own justices.

It has a permanent majority on the panel that appoints its own justices.

So the guy who's been the chief justice of Israel for more than 40 years has been appointing his own cronies for 40 years.

But worse than that, like our Supreme Court, these early Supreme Court can strike down laws that are passed by the government.
