They want to know why I picked a three that I did, John Lennon, Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali.

And then people say, well, what about Marilyn Monroe or Michael Jackson or things like that?

And so, you know, my answer is that this isn't a personality profile book.

It's not People Magazine.

It's not what I'm doing here.

What I'm doing is trying to put three men in perspective who absolutely influenced the way we live right now. It's cultural history.

Michael Jackson had no impact on cultural history at all. Tremendous entertainer. Marilyn Monroe,

same thing, glamorous movie star icon to this day, but didn't really have any influence on Americans and how Americans live.

And so that's what I get a lot.

I have to explain that, you know, this is a, it's not intellectual so much, but it's history, and people are confused because no one writes about cultural history.

They write about the presidents and the wars, and I did, too.

I mean, my first 11 killing books were all about that.

And the 12th one, killing the legends, and you're kind enough to mention it and read it,

this is about cultural history, which is vitally important because right now we're in a

middle of a culture war in America.
