to the media, all eyes are going to be on the State of the Union address later today.

Not really. I confess in my newsletter this morning that I am a little bit jaded about

the State of the Union address as I watch too many of them. So I'm underwhelmed by it.

Look, I'm sure that Joe Biden is going to do a fine job, workman like job, walk through

a lot of substance, take some victory laps, maybe take some shots at some of the crazy

Republican policies. But to the extent there's going to be any drama, it's probably going

to be the reaction of the performance of House majority to the address. And so we will

devote a lot of time to talking about that tomorrow and over the next couple of days.

Today I wanted to do something very, very different. And we are very fortunate to welcome

back on the podcast, Retired General Mark Hurtling. Mark, as you know, is a retired lieutenant

general, is a former commanding general of the US Army Europe and the seventh Army. He
