I get entrepreneurs all the time I don't have the right idea or my idea is not strong enough

Any idea will get you in the door talking to other people. It creates the conversation and from that if you're patient and you're persistent

You'll find that real need in the marketplace that's the critical thing people get too tied up at the very earliest stages

that somehow they don't have the right thing and therefore it's not going to work but

that wrong thing will open up a door to find the right one.

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest episode of the Billy Yang podcast. I'm your host Billy Yang and today I am super excited to have on our first business person.

He is the co-founder and chairman of Strava, Mark Gainey.

Now to the uninitiated Strava is widely considered to be the social

media app for all endurance junkies yours truly included and that ranges

from running, cycling, climbing, skiing.

Basically any outdoor activity you can think of.

Strava is definitely the go-to-app.

As an athlete himself, Mark along with his Harvard friend Michael Horvath, Wantsrava back in 2009,

as a way to keep tabs on one another and over the years grew to millions internationally.

I really love this conversation with Mark because he has some great nuggets about some of the qualities

it takes to be a great entrepreneur, but instead of the usual hustle, you know, win at all

costs, rah-a-type speech, he lends perspective that was shaped by real life events and I think

that conversation has not really had enough.
