I'm on Ghanaian To the lands of the Ghana people of the Adelaide Plains.

We would like to pay our respects to the custodians, to the ancestors that nurtured the land and the elders that have led the way for generations.

This is your land, this is your country, it has always been Aboriginal land.

And as this is a podcast whose reach is far and wide, we would like to extend our respect to the elders of the lands

Fire! a blaze that ripped through thousands of buildings and killed hundreds of people in the year

1871. Baby Marion Lucy Marnie was fast to sleep when the alarm sounded. Her parents whisked her to safety in a

laundry basket and as they watched the city smolder knew. They didn't want to go back.

The Manis wanted a better life for their children, away from the hustle and bustle and

smoke and smog. They wanted nature. They wanted a community.

When you not, here I come?

Marion, her three brothers and sister, grew up in the best kind of playground, the whimsical

woods. Their house was like something out of a fairy tale, a log cabin near a

shimmering lake. Oh the marvel of the lake, Marion cried up, it's the loveliest spot you can imagine.

Marion wailed away her days swimming and climbing trees.

She loved her bird's eye view across the treetops.

Her mother called out.
