Marine Le Pen, the leader of the French far-right, has just been convicted of essentially

corruption involving her far-right party and funds from the European Parliament for jobs

which it was not intended for, let's put it that way, although we'll talk about what that

actually means.

Marine Le Pen, in every presidential election, for the last, what, three rounds has got

closer and closer to securing the presidency.

Emmanuel Macron will not be running next time for the presidency.

And she was widely believed to have a very good chance of winning.

However, she's been found guilty, which means she has a two-year

delayed sentence, as well as two years with, well, a prison sentence that isn't suspended,

but where there's a security band or tag, I forget which, although that is delayed until she's

exhorted appeals, which could take years. But crucially, she's barred from standing in the 27 presidential election.

Is this a stitch-up?
