Now this week we have a bit more of a serious episode. I speak with Mary Loveland of the band Candy Hearts.

And what's interesting about this is I got an email from her manager who is a buddy of mine asking if I would like to have her on the

show and I said of course I would love to have her I always like to have female guests this will be the

third female guest we've had and I think it's important, you know, in this, you know, male dominated scene that we tend to be in with singers to have as many females as possible. So I jumped at the chance, but I hadn't read the

latest news about Maryall in the press. A few days ago, Maryall spoke out about

some abuse she faced from their tour manager on last year's

Warped Tour.

And I encourage you to read that statement.

If you want to pause this right now and go online and check it out you can. And the tour manager in question

also made a rebuttal and Mary Elles since has also made another statement. So

there's a lot going on there's a lot of back and forth. It's a very complicated situation.

But most of all, this is an important issue in our scene right now.

There's a lot of talk about violence against women in our scene.

I bring it up in this podcast a few times,

some incidents with Front Porch Step,

Johnny Craig last year on the warp tour.

So this is something we all need to take very seriously.

So I think it's important right now for you guys to listen to this for you guys to

understand that our scene isn't completely safe and that there are problems and

Hopefully things are getting better not worse.
