Hey guys welcome to episode 18 of the JV club. I am so happy that Maria Bamford is my guest for this week's podcast

She's just somebody that I've been a fan of for such a long time and just sitting across from her. It feels

really good. For any of you who have not had the opportunity to have Maria

Bamford in front of you just know that I was cherishing and enjoying it for all of us and

If there's a way I can get her in front of you gosh darn it. I will because she is a joy to behold and this episode I just want to give everybody a heads up. It does deal with some pretty

sensitive subject matter. You know, you never know exactly what you're going to talk about.

At least I don't. I have parameters in mind and stuff I want to cover and sometimes it just kind of takes on a life of its own and in a way that I have come to love so much about the podcast and it sounds to me from your great

responses that you guys feel the same way and this is this is one of those we

didn't talk that much about adolescents we certainly did cover it in a in a way in a very specific way but I feel really honored to have

had this experience with Maria where we both talk about, for the most part, mental illness, something

that we both had a fair amount of experience with.

I also want to, so I really want to thank Maria for sharing that and I want to thank you guys for listening and I want to thank my parents

Because I do talk about them a bit in this podcast. I always do but in this particular case with sensitive subject matter I just

appreciate their understanding they really get that sometimes you want to

talk about them along with yourself and that you're telling their stories as much as

you're telling your own and sometimes

that can be tricky. I also just want to remind everyone that Maria and I aren't experts

on mental health. Certainly we want everyone to get help if they are in need of it and I encourage anybody who wants to reach out to me to feel free to do so.

But we're not experts and I don't want you to take this as clinical advice on anything.

You may completely disagree with stuff we're saying when we talk about what makes us

angry or what makes us encouraged or anything like that.
