Welcome to Calm History. I'm Harris, and this podcast is my quirky mix of education with sedation.

I hope this episode distracts and relaxes your overactive brain squirrels.

In the first half of this episode, you'll hear the wondrous tale of his journey and his return home,

2:16.4

including who he traveled with,

2:19.2

how many miles he journeyed, where he went,

2:24.2

and why he was imprisoned when he returned home.

2:31.3

But in the second half, I'll address some bigger questions,

2:37.8

like how much of his book is actually true.

2:44.4

Did he really travel to the places he reported in the book?

2:51.3

For example, he traveled all over China,
