Hi friends, I'm Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on Earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.

So here is how this works. I'm going to read one chapter to you today.

You can listen or read along in your own Bible, and then I'll mention the verse or the idea that stood out to me and then I'll pray and that's it and we'd love to hear what stands out to you as well

today I'll be reading Luke 3 from the new international version. Luke 3

in the 15th year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar when Panchus Pilot was governor of Judea,

Herod Tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip, Tetrarch of Ideria and Trachonitis,

and Lysanius, Tetrack of Abilene.

During the high priesthood of Anas and Caiaphas,

the word of God came to John, son of Zakaria in the wilderness.

He went into all the country around the Jordan preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins

As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the Prophet a voice of one calling in the wilderness

Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.

Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low.

The crooked road shall become straight, the rough ways smooth smooth and all people will see God's

salvation. John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, you brood of
