Hi, friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of

0:06.0

the New Testament and the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ,

0:09.6

life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, and the miracles. Each

0:14.7

month we're reading all four books. Make sure you're subscribed so we can continue to read the

0:19.5

Gospels together. You know what we say around here a lot? You don't have to be in the Gospels every

0:23.7

day to be changed, but every day you're in the Gospels will change you. And so I'm really glad

0:27.8

you're here with us today. And today is one of those days. We're reading in chronological order.

0:33.2

So that means with only two days left this month, we are down to the end of Matthew, Mark, Luke,

0:39.0

and John. So each day I'm going to tell you the scripture references and the stories or main

0:42.9

themes will hit. And today is the crucifixion and the burial of Jesus. So I hope in a way that I

0:49.1

don't know we'll do again this year because I have no idea if we'll do chronological order again.

0:53.2

This may be the only day that you hear all these stories, all these accounts of the crucifixion

0:59.7

and burial of Jesus happening on the same day in the same podcast episode. So my hope today is

1:06.3

that you will find a place to listen to this where you can sit quietly, where you can focus,

1:11.2

where you can really pay attention because today is the day. Today is the day of the crucifixion

1:16.8

and burial of Jesus. It is day 29, March 29th, and I'm going to be reading Mark 15, 21 through 24,

1:24.7

Matthew 27, 32 through 34, Luke 23, 26 to 31, John 19, 17, Mark 15, 25 to 32, Matthew 27, 35 to 44,

1:37.5

Luke 23, 32 through 43, John 19, 18 to 27, Mark 15, 33 to 41, Matthew 27, 45 to 56, Luke 23, 44 to 49, John 19, 28 to 37,

1:55.2

Mark 15, 42 to 47, Matthew 27, 57 to 61, Luke 23, 50 to 56, John 19, 38 to 42, and Matthew 27, 62 to 66,

2:10.2

and the translation I'm reading from this month is the new living translation.

2:14.0

This is day 29 in chronological order, the crucifixion from Mark. A passerby named Simon, who was from

2:25.2

Syrene, was coming in from the countryside just then, and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus'
