0:00.0	Hi friends. I'm Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
0:11.0	These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the
0:14.0	friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. So here is
0:18.9	how today works. I'm going to read one chapter to you. You can listen or read
0:22.2	along in your own Bible and
0:23.7	then I'll mention the verse of the idea that stood out to me and then I'll
0:26.2	pray and that's it. And this week as it is Holy Week as we walk toward
0:30.4	Easter on Sunday, today's chapter matters so, so much.
0:35.2	We get to read today in Luke 22 about the last supper
0:38.0	and Jesus being arrested.
0:39.1	So today is March 27th, and I'll be reading Luke 22 from the new international version.
0:46.6	Luke 22.
0:48.5	Now the festival of unleavened bread called the Passover was approaching, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus for they were afraid of the people.
0:58.0	Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the 12, and Judas went to the chief priest and the officers of the
1:04.7	temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were
1:08.4	delighted and agreed to give him money. He consented and watched for an
1:12.2	opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no
1:14.3	crowd was present. Then came the day of unleavened bread on which the Passover Lamb
1:19.2	had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John saying,
1:23.4	Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.
1:26.4	Where do you want us to prepare for it?
1:27.8	They asked.
