Good morning. I'm Playbook Deputy Editor Zach Stanton. It's Thursday, March 27th,

and what's striving the day today is, again, Signalgate, and the Trump administration's somewhat

disjointed response to it. And that is surely frustrating the White House. There are any number of

other stories that the Trump administration would prefer to discuss today. They'd prefer to talk

about tariffs. President Donald Trump announced yesterday that he plans to impose an additional

25 percent tariff on imported cars and auto parts, a major escalation of his trade war tactics,

and one that would hit key

U.S. trading partners and allies, including Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and Germany.

They'd prefer to talk about their fight against the judges pumping the brakes on Trump's deportation

policies, like the two-to-one ruling yesterday by a panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals,

which upheld the decision of District Judge James Bosberg, who blocked Trump's deportation order earlier this month

amid questions about its constitutionality. They'd prefer to talk about their continued pressure

campaign to bring Greenland under U.S. influence. Yesterday, President Trump said in a radio interview

that, we have to have it, referring to the sparsely populated

Arctic nation. Watch for that pressure to ratchet up tomorrow when Vice President J.D. Vance

makes a trip to the nation. But instead of talking about those things, for a fourth day, the

story Washington is focusing on is Signalgate, the rare Trump storyline with real staying power.
