0:00.0	Hi friends, I'm Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ life on earth,
0:13.4	the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.
0:17.7	So here is how this works.
0:18.8	I'm going to read one chapter to you today.
0:20.6	You can listen or read along in your own Bible and then I'll mention
0:23.4	the verse or the idea that stood out to me and then I'll pray and that's it.
0:26.7	Today is March 25th and I'll be reading Luke 20.
0:34.8	Luke 20.
0:36.7	One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts and proclaiming the good news, the
0:41.0	chief priest and the teachers of the law together with the elders came up to him
0:44.8	tell us by what authority you are doing these things they said who gave you this authority
0:50.3	he replied I will also ask you a question.
0:53.2	Tell me, John's baptism, was it from heaven or of human origin?
0:58.0	They discussed it among themselves and said,
1:00.1	if we say from heaven, he will ask, why didn't you believe him? But if we say from heaven he will ask why didn't you believe him but if we say of human origin all the people
1:06.1	will stone us because they are persuaded that John was a prophet so they answered we don't know
1:11.4	where it was from.
1:13.2	Jesus said, neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
1:18.3	He went on to tell the people this parable.
1:20.4	A man planted a vineyard, rented it to some farmers, and went away for a long time.
1:25.3	At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they would give him some of the fruit of the
1:29.5	vineyard, but the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
