Well, the omnibus is finally out and House Republicans reverse course and now they're saying they'll vote on it today.

That's less than 24 hours after its release.

Not how they promised us they would run the House, but here we are.

It's a risky gambit and nothing could go wrong in the next 48 hours.

And when have we ever see things go according to plan? The big picture, though, is that Congress

is pretty much done for 2018. Here's what they got, a tax code rewrite, a massive boost in military

spending, a little bit of Trump's wall done, and the political picture is all but frozen.

Republicans are ready to run for re-election in November on those accomplishments.

Some have pointed out that the heaviest legislating period for Donald Trump is now over.

The Washington Post Josh Dawsey and Bob Casa take us behind the scenes yesterday

when Trump almost pulled his support from the omnibus.

He didn't like what he was getting on the wall and he was under the impression that the gateway

tunnel between New York and New Jersey was being built.

The Wall Street Journal says the U.S. and China are sharpening their trade swords.

They point out that Chinese officials are going to announce tariffs on soybeans and hogs.

Coincidentally, Trump won the states that produced those two exports.

Today, in very nice things, Ryan Zinke brought his security detail on vacation with him to

Turkey and Greece.

And the EPA says that Gina McCarthy, the administrator under Obama, also flew in first class.
