And I'm Anna Palmer. A big siren this morning is coming out of a story by our colleague, Sungman Kim.

She had an interview with Senator Sheldon White House, a key Democrat probing Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Whiteos tells her that the FBI director

James Comey has indicated privately to senators that he may provide a clearer explanation of the existence

of a Russia-related FBI investigation in advance of an anticipated Senate hearing on Wednesday.

White House said in the interview, so I think he implicitly confirmed

that they are looking at this, and he said he'd get us a clearer explanation by tomorrow.

The Republican health care replacement bill continues to dominate headlines and the

mind space of many on Capitol Hill, and so far, it's not looking very good. We're not going to

make predictions about whether congressional

Republicans will be able to live up to their decade-old promise of repealing and replacing the

health care law. Legislating takes time. The process has twists and turns. Arms get twisted.

Leaders give rousing rallying cries and support materializes sometimes out of nowhere. But look around. Things look

shaky at best for President Donald Trump and Speaker Paul Ryan's American Health Care Act.

Concern is coming from all over the Republican Party. The new narrative, moderates across the

Republican Party are nervous about this legislation. In the last day or so, New Jersey Congressman Leonard Lance,

Pennsylvania Congressman Pat Meehan, Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ross Layton, and Peter Roscombe of

Illinois have all expressed skepticism about the legislation. This opposition is in addition to

the House Freedom Caucus, the Conservative Caucus, whose members have expressed concerns with

the legislation. This is a major problem for Republicans. It illustrates the issues are coming not only

from the conservative right, but also from middle of the road moderates. There's simply nowhere to go,
