of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ's

life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. Each month

you. This month as we are reading in chronological order, we're mixing up Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,

it is really fun to hear. Multiple stories told from different authors point of use. We're loving it,

the scripture references and the stories are main themes that we'll hit. So today is March 13th,

day 13 and I'll be reading Mark 7, 1 through 23, Matthew 15, 1 through 20, Mark 7, 24 through 30,

Matthew 15, 21 to 28, Mark 7, 31 to 37, Matthew 15, 29 to 31, Mark 8, 1 through 10, Matthew 15,

32 through 39, Matthew 16, 1 through 4, Mark 8, 11 to 21, and Matthew 16, 5 through 12.

We're going to hear Jesus interacting with a lot of religious leaders and as he does,

doing lots of miracles. The translation I'm reading from this month is the new living translation.

This is day 13 in chronological order. Jesus teaches about inner purity from Mark.

One day, some Pharisees and teachers of religious law arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus.

They noticed that some of his disciples failed to follow the Jewish ritual of handwashing before

eating. The Jews, especially the Pharisees, do not eat until they have poured water over their

cupped hands as required by their ancient traditions. Similarly, they don't need anything from the

market until they immerse their hands in water. This is but one of many traditions they have clung to,
