probably won't like. Former Speaker Paul Ryan gave a speech in Vero Beach, Florida and said he thinks

Democrats could beat Donald Trump next year. He said the president needs to define his campaign

not his personal brand. Here's the story everyone is talking about. Speaker Nancy Pelosi told

the Washington Post that she is not for impeachment. She said she doesn't believe President

Trump is fit to be president and that it is up to Democrats to show a contrast to Trump.

This story exploded late yesterday afternoon on Capitol Hill.

We all sat around a bit trying to decide what to make of the remarks and why Pelosi made them

and why now.

It was clear that Pelosi felt exceedingly comfortable with the Washington Post because this

is a step further than she's gone in the past.

Pelosi has said versions of this before that impeachment needs to be bipartisan.

What she has not said is that Trump was not worth it, whatever that means, and that he is not

fit to be president. Pelosi also tied all of these thoughts together in a package which made

it land a lot harder. Here's what Politico Capitol Hill

She said versions of this before, but leaned in harder than ever. This takes pressure off of

individual Democrats to be for against impeachment. They could just point to Pelosi and blame her.
