Five years ago today, on March 11, 2020, I was in New York City covering the Knicks and gearing up for March Madness, as I usually do.

But then, Rudy Gobert, who at the time played for the Utah Jazz, tested positive for COVID-19

before Utah's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

At first, the game was delayed, and then it was postponed altogether.

Nobody really knew what was happening, but it was unfolding right in front of us.

I remember talking to my then-boyfriend now husband and wondering if was happening, but it was unfolding right in front of us.

By the end of the night, the NBA announced they were shutting down their season for the foreseeable future.

And I, and probably you, we were all stunned.

Here at 30 for 30, we make stories about the unforgettable moments in sports that change culture.

So at the end of 2020, we made a podcast about this one pivotal day, March 11th, 2020. It's crazy to think it's already been five years.

But here we are.

To mark this day, a day when sports and society collided in unprecedented ways,
