My dad's from the South.

My dad, pick cotton.

Point being, my daddy wasn't trying to hear me ever talk about these racial conditions

in ways compared to what he had to go through.

So he's like, accept the progress, accept that things are evolving and changing.

So there's two things I live by, and one of them really applies here.

One is life's a competition between you and yourself, Mark Twain.

But the one that applies right here is that you

have to be greater than your greatest excuse. After everything you lay out, I have to be

greater than the greatest excuse. And everyone has excuses. He is Marcellus Wiley.

He played defensive end in the NFL for 10 years.

Dallas, Jacksonville, San Diego, Buffalo.

Ten seasons.

He was a pro bowler.

And he now is one of my favorite interviews of all time.
