In the six weeks since the new year began, Donald Trump has suggested on five

separate occasions that the midterm elections in November not be carried out as they would

be carried out under anything remotely resembling normal circumstances, which, of course,

are definitionally not the circumstances in which the United States

of America is currently operating. On the first two occasions, in the first two weeks of January,

Trump teased the notion of calling off the midterms entirely, the first time floating the idea

and in the next breath denying that he was floating it. Yeah, we have to even run against these people.
