It's owned by the National Trust for Scotland, and we kicked off on a pitch-perfect day right in front of the lodge itself.

The location we're at the moment, as I was driving up this morning, I was nearly in tears because it was so beautiful.

It's been a long time before we've actually been out on the road together today it's clear blue skies that the trees are just poised just poised to burst into leaf this is mar lodge this area has This is Mar Lodge.

This area has come to represent

potentially the future of how Scotland's wildlife

and mountains and hillsides look like.

Once upon a time, this was a rich man's playground and they used it as a sporting estate.

But 20 plus years ago, the National Trust for Scotland were able to buy it and take it over.

And what they've been doing in the intervening period is fascinating.
