Honey has been around for thousands of years.

I think the earliest that they can find is the Egyptians using honey, so a long while back.

And, you know, honey's awesome.

You know, normal honey is awesome because it's, you know, very very very high natural sugar content um and has

you know hydrogen peroxide so it has very nice antibacterial effects itself um and very good

preservatory qualities um but i suppose as the world transitioned into you know more natural

remedies and natural products you know honey has know, gathered a lot of momentum.

Obviously there's a range of things around, you know,

good production practices, care of, you know, the animals and care of the land that, you know,

needs to be addressed in a range of sectors. But honey, honey is, honey's right up there.

And I suppose what has happened with Manuka honey is,

It comes from the Manuka tea tree.

And it, you know, got proven in the late 1990s that Mahanuka honey could kill staphlococcus
