Manti Te’o was on top of the world when it came to football. In his senior season at Notre Dame, he was a Heisman trophy finalist who led the Fighting Irish to the national championship game. But off the football field, Manti was involved in an online relationship with someone he’d never met. It is now known as a famous catfishing scandal but at the time, Manti Te’o was just a college athlete who was trying to navigate a horrific experience in the public eye.
