Summary

Hey Besties! To continue mentor month, this week on Almost Adulting we are joined by yet another legend, Robert Greene! Robert is the author of 6 New York Times bestsellers including the infamous The 48 Laws of Power and The Art of Seduction.

Together Violet and Robert go through some of the most important lessons in his iconic books and unpack the TRUE meanings behind them - regardless of any ‘bad press’ they may have received. Throughout the conversation Violet and Robert drop gems about how to further your trajectory in life: from learning how to see behind the ‘mask’ people put on for others, to finding your true purpose (even if that means failing). Finally, Robert speaks on what he feels is his most important lesson taught in the 48 Laws of Power, and how you can apply it to your life and reap the benefits. Knowing what you want to do, knowing what you were destined for, knowing what is deep inside of you, what you connect to, is the single most important thing in your whole life.

0:10.5

This is the time when you kind of should sit down and just reevaluate your whole life, since we don't have those years that we can take back anymore.

and your big sister, Violet Benson. Today's guests have actually been obsessed with him for quite some time.

0:50.1

He is so insightful, so intelligent, so smart, and that is why I had to do a two-part episode with him. His name is Robert Green.

1:00.1

He's written some of the top books out there. New York Times bestseller books. One of my favorite books by him is 48 Laws of Power. It's brilliant. He's brilliant.

1:11.1

Yeah, I'm so excited for this interview. You guys are going to love this episode and part two will be next week.

1:16.1

But first, before we get started, I know the holidays are coming up and they're not amazing for everyone. Many of us either don't celebrate the holidays or we don't have family to celebrate with and as much as it brings joy for a lot of us, a lot of us, it brings sadness.

1:32.1

So if you're listening right now, I just want you to know you're not alone. I love you and you'll get through this.

1:38.1

To kind of lift up your mood, I kind of created a list of some gifts that you can get for your loved one. This holiday season that they'll never forget.

1:48.1

Okay, so take a pen and paper and write this down because I really think that will be one memorable Christmas for them for the rest of their lives. You're welcome.

1:58.1

Okay, so here are some gifts you can get them. Number one, Herpes. So they'll always have a part of you with them.

2:03.1

Number two, Avocation with my dad, just email me. He will make sure to wake you up every day at 5 a.m. screaming at you with the list of things to do for the next eight hours.

2:13.1

Number three, a batch of condoms, but with holes in them because nothing says gotcha like 18 years of child support. Number four, a matching tattoo because that says forever.

2:25.1

Number five, an unwanted pregnancy. If you're looking to save your relationship because I think kids in the mix always help make things better. The next one already for our number I'm on a stuffed animal, but with a camera inside of it.

2:37.1

So you can always hear everything they're thinking and everything they talk about so you can learn everything about them to be a better partner. They'll thank you later. Trust me.

2:47.1

And when the last one, if you're trying to take your relationship to the next level, start stealing things from their house, nothing major, nothing big, just little things that would make sense for anyone to steal like batteries from their remote control or a whole remote control.

3:01.1

Their toothbrush, a glass of water, just little things that will make them go crazy. Eventually they'll come to you and they'll say, hey, I don't feel safe in my house anymore. I feel like I'm going crazy.

3:12.1

And you'll come and sweep them off their feet and save them by saying, hey, move in with me. There you go. Now you've given them the best gift ever of living together. Happy holidays. I hope this helps. Make it the most memorable Christmas you'll ever have or holiday. You're welcome.

3:26.1

Anyway, you guys enjoy today's episode. Don't forget that I love you. Make sure to subscribe to this podcast, almost adulting and make sure to download today's episode. Love ya.
