His name is Spencer Schneider, and he's just published. A really fascinating book. The title of the book is Manhattan Colt Story, My Unbelievable True Story of Sex, Crimes, Chaos, and Survival.

And I highly recommend this book. It's very interesting. It goes into his detail about

how he got involved in a group for over 20 years. And he is an attorney who specializes in

corporate litigation in New York. He's also a native of Brooklyn. And is an open water marathon swimmer

and ice water swimmer. He works as an Ocean Lifeguard, operates a

lifeguard training academy and co-founded a water rescue group. He's the only member or former

member of what he calls, or what is called school to have published his experience in the

cult. He was a member of the inner circle for 23 years, and he has a blog about his experience titled Cult Revolt. He's a contributing

writer for East Magazine and lives in New York City and East Hampson, and I'll put his contact

information in there. But Spencer Schneider, welcome to the show.

Nice to be here. So for people, this is a fascinating book. This is your first book.

Can you kind of talk about your life leading up to this kind of momentous meeting with

the guy you called Bruce and how you really got involved in this very curious group in Manhattan?

Yeah, sure.

I'm from Long Island, suburbs of New York.

I was, you know, grew up in a fairly middle class background wanting nothing. College educated, went to law school, had lots of friends, had a great job when I got out of law school, nothing remarkable

except maybe my father passing away when I was 25. And, you know, working very hard as an

attorney in Manhattan in the late 80s, which was an exciting time.

And so you were in kind of downtown Manhattan working long hours, and you met up with a friend,

Bruce, and that's kind of where it all started, right?

Yeah, exactly.
