Hi everybody. Welcome to ruin. This is Halle. This is Allison. This is a podcast we ruined a horror movie.

Also, I'm not going to lie. I'm not doing well today. I'm doing real bad. I'm going to cry.

Oh, sorry. I'm going to cry right now. This is recording this before Thanksgiving just because

like the holiday. So yesterday was the club queue shooting and I don't know. As a horror movie

podcast, what do we have to say about it? But as someone who since coming out, I feel like

has become more politically engaged specifically, politically much more left. It is what is so

hard about coming to that realization for me is like how much of all of this really is a culture

war. And it's like obviously voting is important. That's why things were not horrible during the

midterm. So it's like the national conversation and voting obviously are the baseline. But then

the rest of it really is the rights compulsive propaganda about how queer and trans people are

pedophiles like their groomers, you know, all this like stuff. And I think that there are people

that somehow think that that's not the root cause of these kind of like horrific events, but it is.

And obviously it is also on the individual who does it. But I think we could see now those

tend to be the same kind of individuals disaffected young mostly white men. Again, that's not a

coincidence. And I think that is, you know, I think we could all understand how the way we socialize,

white people, cis people, men in this country is bad. And I don't mean that to say anything

big about men, I see how men are socialized. I see that we don't what we what we're telling them

and what we're not giving support we're giving them. At the same time, it's sort of like when this

happens or when black people are shot in a church or a synagogue is shot, it's like we know why
