Summary

In February 1889, wealthy businessman John Fletcher is found unconscious in a Manchester cab and taken to hospital where he is declared dead on arrival. Known to be a heavy drinker, his death is at first put down to alcohol poisoning. But Detective Chief Inspector Jerome Caminada suspects foul play. Who was the young man seen running away from the cab? And what happened to the dead man’s possessions?
