Hello and welcome to ramblings, and we've been lucky for once in that it's a bit brisk but it's a beautiful clear day and today I've made the relatively short journey from Manchester Victoria Station out into

the Pennine hills the foothills of the Pennines round about Oldham the villages of Diggle and

Dobcross and we've come out to the debatable badlands between Lancashire and Yorkshire.

I was born and brought up just down there to the east down in Yorkshire

and this is a sort of Pennine Watershed and over that way is Lancashire. It used to be Yorkshire

and then it was it was bequeathed to Lancashire. Yeah, although people down there in Saddleworth
