Summary

Martha identifies as a codependent: someone who helps others even when helping is to her own detriment. Since many of Martha’s listeners have similar personalities, she shares a coping technique she formulated after reading Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss. People who don’t experience empathy, such as narcissists and psychopaths, are very hard for codependents to understand. 1:05.0	Anyway, I've worked on, this book was a long time coming.

1:11.8	it if I do say so myself and I've never said that about a book before. Anyway, it's coming out on
1:19.3	April 13th and I want to invite you all to come to hang out with me and Liz Gilbert on that day.
1:29.0	I think we'll be on Facebook, right? We're having no. Oh, you have to buy tickets, but they're not very expensive.
1:34.3	And you get a book and it's wondrous so you can come to sort of our book club and it'll be super fun because I wrote the book during the, well, leaving up to the COVID lockdown.
1:45.2	And during the lockdown, Liz, of course, wrote like 12 books, some of which she may publish
