Hey folks, Randy Noberg here with another episode of Louis Pold's Hunt Talk Radio.

Hope you're all doing well. I'm sharing the microphone today with a guy who I've really

come to admire his interest in things, his passion, his commitment to improving the situation

for him and his fellow hunters up in Northwest Montana. It's an example of citizen advocacy.

Ian Wargroves with me and he got a hold of me a couple of years ago and was asking me some

questions about how this works, how that works, and my experiences in this and my experiences in

that and I happen to be up in Calispell where he lives. So we had lunch and I left that thinking,

man, this guy is committed. He is the kind of person who is going to make a difference.

So he then got nominated to a Citizens Advisory Committee which was a management committee

about elk here in Montana. In that process he accumulated mountains of research a lot of

what he shared with me. The paints a picture of what Northwest Montana was in its heyday,

when the habitat was good, when the active management was going on, just how remarkable it was

for elk and deer and then the data of where it is today. So there's not a lot of things here

that we're going to cover. I'm sure about active management. We're going to talk about predators

probably but mostly we're going to talk about Ian's work and how he now has become an optimist
