Welcome to an overlap fan debate special. We've got Arsenal fans on my right,

0:04.4

Manchester United fans on my left, and we've also got two journalists from the Athletic

0:08.5

to give us the full rundown on two huge football clubs.

0:12.4

Brilliant win for Manchester United yesterday on the back of other good results.

0:15.9

Is there a real good feel-good factor now about Manchester United?

0:18.8

Yeah, I think the most important thing is we're seeing a team that's fighting out there at

0:22.2

the moment and playing for that for the shirt. That's what Manchester United fans have been demanding the most. I think against Brighton, Brentford, you kind of expect to have hiccups early in the season, especially when you see what Ten Haug is demanding other. But you can't accept not turning up to fight. and I think against Liverpool, Southampton, Leicester, and again, against Arsenal.

0:39.3

We have scrapped for everything.

0:40.9

There's been periods where we've been. but you can't accept not turning up to fight. And I think against Liverpool, Southampton, Lester, and again, against Arsenal,

0:39.2

we have scrapped for everything.

0:40.8

There's been periods where we've played good football as well, but the wins haven't been all about that. I mean, Liverpool had a period where they were on top. Arsenal did, and we've managed to get through. So there's a real good, feel, good factor. and I'm starting to like some of the players again,

0:53.2

which is really good.

0:54.9

You're not getting filled by them, are you again?

0:56.6

Yeah.

0:57.2

Well, the likes of Lesandro Martinez and stuff, like, I feel like on the pitch, they're connecting with the fans and they're giving the fans what they want to see. They've got qualities there as well. And I also feel like the likes of Martinez, molassia, although I'm not seeing it, I feel like on the training ground, they'd lift the whole training ground, they'd be snapping into every challenge and they'll be really fighting for their position. Well, you see them sort of high-fiving, don't you, when someone makes a clearance or they make a block or whatever. What you're saying about this fight in the Manchester United team, now, of course, you saw that at the start against Liverpool. What I would say is that the games have been completely different that he's of won than the first two games where you've probably had 70% possession, you concede the first goal. The game's now, I think starting against Liverpool, and what I really admire about Ten Haag watching them, is the fact that he's tried to play a same way in the first two games, he, trying to play out from the back, using the goalkeeper, and against Liverpool, he didn't, and I admire that at a manager, that a manager isn't stubborn enough to say, I do this and we don't change. So I think Tanag has done brilliant, so to tweak the system. But I don't think how Manchester United are playing right now is exactly how

2:01.6

he wants Manchester United to play in the future. There's glimpses of it. I think you see in the

2:05.3

goal, the pass from Christian, the quick pass out, and then you get the quick break on them.

2:09.9

I think there's been glimpses of it. I think there was the goal against Leicester City as well.

2:13.5

It was a good build-up play. We're getting to see parts of it and maybe for 10 minutes in the game. We haven't seen it for 90 minutes and we're not controlling games yet. I think that will come eventually once it gets more time on the training ground. What's changed? I mean, I actually put my finger on it yesterday in terms of what's the one thing that Ten Haag or the players have done since that Brentford? How did you change from where we were so low as bad as it gets to what we're now seeing?

2:36.8

What is the thing that's, I mean, is it the change in the team?

2:39.7

Is it the new players coming in? Is it just confidence? Is it Ten Haags instructions?

2:43.9

It's probably just a mixture of everything. Like the fact like Adam was saying like the fight and the intent from the players that is a sort of a knock on effect from
