Summary

A win at Wolves, a convincing win. OK, it wasn't entirely trouble-free, but United scored four and put the game to bed comfortably in the second half; they are now sixth in the Premier League, a point behind Crystal Palace in fourth and separated from a potential Champions League-qualifying fifth place by goal difference.

Mason Mount, if he can be described this way, was the star of the show. Scoring at a crucial time and just generally being efficient and effective, Mount appears to be working his way into the first-choice XI; Bruno Fernandes, who assisted Mount's goal, also featured strongly, almost summing up his career at the club.

However, it's still a fragile confidence after disappointing performances against Everton and West Ham and with AFCON just around the corner. A tough FA Cup draw hasn't necessarily boosted that confidence, and we're also sad to see Jonny Evans unexpectedly leave the club.

We're getting to all the details of that victory that sent Manchester United to the edge of the top four.

They've had the opportunity to do that a few times. They finally did it, but they're still a little bit precarious. Anyway, we'll get into all of that in a bit. All three of us were at Mollineau last night, so we've got Laurie and Andy on the show today. Hello, guys, you okay? Hello, Ian. Hello, Andy. Again. It feels like only yesterday that we saw each other.

1:02.2

Sick of seeing both of you, but we'll get through this. It's a good job. We're over the internet then. You're in the London office.

1:10.1

What do we think? It was a good win. Obviously, in the end, it was a high scoring win. Was it a step forward, Andy, in your opinion?

1:11.5

It was a must win, Ian.

1:14.9

That was the most important thing last night over the performance.

1:19.3

I think the mood slumped after the West Ham game the other day.

1:24.0

After the Everton home defeat, there was a lot of frustration around.

1:29.6

Interestingly, less so when I spoke to fans in real life outside the way end, 90 minutes before the game. It was much more measured. But it was an absolute must-win game because wolves

1:35.2

have been really bad this season. They can't win. And I thought Manchester United would win,

1:41.8

but I still paused as I thought that because I'm not entirely

1:44.7

convinced by what I've been seeing this season. But they did win. They scored four goals.

1:48.3

They started well. There was that blip, which I'm sure we'll talk about. And then the second

1:52.1

half, Manchester United were completely dominant. Yeah, exactly. I mean, Laurie, there is still

1:57.8

a lurch, it feels like, from match to match. I mean, some of the reaction to our last podcast,

2:03.1

understandably following the West Ham game, you know, spiraled big time,

2:08.1

the future of the head coach, you know, the quality of the team,

2:11.1

the moment of Manchester United, the whole thing really.

2:14.2

There was a little bit of spiraling going on just before half time last night as well in fairness,
