I have talked about Max Keane.

We have discussed and had him on the show talking about the farm work and farm match and the things that he's doing.

But I think it's important to understand his personal story.

Why is it he cares so much about organic farming?

Well, the truth is is because it saved his life.

He may not be alive today if it weren't for farmers like Amos.

And this is Max's story.

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago.

I was really active as a young child.

I was out running the neighborhood with other children.

I was just 10 years old and when out of the blue I started experiencing just this terrible burning sensation in my upper abdomen.

And it lasted for three days straight.

Then the pain went away.

I was just about to turn 11.

Then the pain come back and except this time, it never went away.

My skin started becoming kind of pale white.

And then I started experiencing joint pain as well.

My elbows, my knees, my shoulders, my hips just started feeling really chronically in pain.

So I went to a family practitioner and at the time my parents were getting divorced and she thought it had something to do with emotional pain.

So I kept going back to her over and over and after about in a year after seeing her.

She sent me to the University of Chicago for them to scope me.

They found 34 ulcers throughout my small bowel and the duodenum and the rest of the small bowel.
