Summary

On January 2, 2026 his second day as mayor, Mamdani signed Executive ORDER 7 creating the Office of Mass Engagement. This wasn't improvised. An office this complex, with hiring structures and a $1.6M budget already in place before it launched, was designed before the election. This is the first indicator: it was pre-planned infrastructure, not responsive governance.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, Mayor Mom Donnie is added again. He's launching another phase in the

0:07.1

socialist takeover of New York City. Now, I think it's important to understand something because

0:11.3

the word socialist gets thrown around a lot. And a lot of times when you ask somebody about socialism

0:15.7

who thinks they like it, they tend to describe socialism as all of their wonderful aspirations or hopes and

0:22.4

dreams. So they'll talk a lot about free health care or, you know, housing or making sure that

0:28.1

everybody has a quality education, right? Well, the important thing to understand is none of these

0:32.4

things are socialism, right? These things are aspirational. These are goods and services. These are

0:37.2

things that everybody

0:38.5

wants on some level for everybody else to be able to have access to. The question is, how do you get it?

0:43.4

And socialism has a very particular way on how to get it. And one of the ways they go to get it is

0:48.0

they believe in the abolition of the private ownership of the means of production. Now, they will

0:52.7

tell you what they want is for the workers to own everything, but that

0:55.9

never seems to work out that way.

0:58.1

Communism may believe that one day that's possible.

1:00.6

Socialists actually believe that it's the government operating on the people's behalf,

1:05.3

which is going to determine those things.

1:07.2

Now, a long time ago, an Italian socialist named Antonio Gramsci figured out that Marx kind of had it wrong.

1:15.3

Now, he didn't think Marx had it wrong with respect to the in-state or what he wanted to actually see happen.

1:19.7

He didn't think Marx had it wrong with respect to who the bad guys were.

1:22.6

He just think that Marx was incorrect with respect to how the revolution was going to spread.

1:27.8

And so Antonio Gramsci was adamant that in order for socialism to spread in a capitalist country,

1:34.0

you can't just make a bunch of economic arguments about how the workers' lives are horrible,
