So, uh, you did the robbery in San Diego and then you're in prison the whole time you were in prison were you thinking about? When I went in I literally was like I know what I'm doing when I get out in fact when I got out I knew so much what I wanted to do like

Like a bank robber allowed me to just concentrate on one thing, and this is going to be my thing, and it felt elevated too.

Like in the pantheon of crimes, bank robbery is a really romantic crime.

And so I felt like that's where I want to occupy. I had been such a petty

criminal up until then burning family bouncing check like crimes are just petty and

bullshit and embarrassed hugely embarrassing. like crimes are just petty and

I was way more I was embarrassed. Bank robbery I was like proud to be a bank robber.

I was like okay if I'm gonna be a a criminal, bank robbery is cool, you know?

Okay, so I got out of prison in 1988. I want to wait a month before I started robbing banks because I was worried that the first bank I robbed I'd get

busting I'd go right back and I didn't want to go right back I just done about two

years I thought give myself a month to go dancing and have some sex you know

kind of party, do my thing, and then take a chance.

So my brother had let me stay at his place in Pasadena and my brother had two roommates one was a musician and then the other guy

actually worked for an armored car company and he had his guns not locked up in the garage.

So I got a gun.
