A less than a month ago, John and I did our annual coach rankings.

And in that process, we mentioned two coaches in the top 10 who have since been fired.

Taylor Jenkins and Michael Malone, shocking news out of Denver.

And Malone certainly seemed embattled when I saw him on Friday night, both before and after the game, and their defense has not been that great.

We'll talk about all the things that had kind of gone wrong.

But this is certainly pretty darn surprising to have the latest firing in NBA history for this team with this player at this time having lost four

straight. It's, it's pretty remarkable. It's jarring. And I mean, yes, it comes on the heels of

Taylor Jenkins, but this is far more shocking because, yes, there are reasons to to kind of understand

how and why this may have happened. But the Denver Nuggets won the second

most recent NBA championship. They're not the rating champions, but they made it. You know,

they want it in 22, 23. They have the reigning best player in the world. They are probably

going to go under the Rover under, but not by that much. And they

did have this recent streak. And it's three games from the postseason. They are making the postseason

where they go in the postseason is an open question. There's some interesting quotes from

Josh Crunky about that, which I think will be part of the story here. But we just don't see coaches typically get fired in this situation where, you know,

we've seen coaches.

I mean, I think four recent championship coaches are not, are no longer with that team,

Vogel, Nurse, Boonholzer, and now Michael Malone.

But it's not like the wheels fell off the wagon here,

as frustrated as some people are within the organization. And so the place to me that we have to

kind of really start this, and this is, it's a question without a definitive answer yet,

is Neagle Yokic, because Malone and Yokic seemed to have this very positive relationship around the championship,
