College in Vancouver. We have back on the podcast, Dr. Malka Simcovich, who is going to be

talking about a new book that she has. So she's always a very engaging person to talk with.

And I really appreciate what she has to say in this interview. Thanks to

My guest today is Dr. Malika Simkovich, who is editor-in-chief at the Jewish Publication Society

and visiting professor at Yeshiva University's Revo Graduate School for Jewish Studies. Before taking

up the role at JPS, she was the Crown Ryan Chair of

Jewish Studies at Catholic Theological Union from 2014 to 24. So she's just moved over to the Jewish

Publication Society, something I want to hear about in a minute. She's the author of the making of

Jewish universalism from exile to Alexandria,

also discovering Second Temple literature about which we interviewed her on a previous Onscript

episode, so I encourage people to go back and listen to that. And her most recent book is

Letters from Home, The Creation of Diaspora and Jewish Antiquity, which we're discussing

today. So, Malco, welcome back to Onscript.
