Hello everyone and welcome back to Dolphins Talk. My name is Marissa Marino and joining me today is Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington. Malik, how are you?

I'm doing great. How are you?

I am amazing. I am so glad to have you join the show. This is actually your second time on dolphins talk last year it was with mike

and this time you're with me so now you're officially a regular yeah feel it well we are so excited to

have you on there has been so much happening with his miami dolphins team and some things that are

sad we've had some players leave but it's opening up a lot of room for you.

So I'm so excited to talk about this. So with that Dolphins wide receiver room this off

season, you're now the longest 10-year Dolphins wide receiver in that room. Have you thought

about that at all in the past few weeks? Like has that sunk in? Yeah. I really don't think about it. I've had some people actually like, just, you know, just tell me and be like, dude, you're the, you've been here the longest now, like a part of this program, part of this organization in the room. But for me, I mean, I'm just seeing it as just another opportunity to lead, another opportunity to, you know, help out and do and like, you know, be aligned with what the new coaches, the new GM and everything that they want,

and kind of help instill that within the guys

in the room. Well, I mean, I think it's great that, you know, if you're coming off of a great year

to be one of the longest 10-year wide receivers in that room, last season you had a major jump in

production. You had 20 more

receptions, three more receiving touchdowns. On the field, what's been the biggest difference for you

between year one and year two? Yeah, I mean, I think I put in a good amount of work and working with

my trainer, Goldfeet, TAA out here, and then working with the strength staff, doing different things I know that will, you know, kind of help me improve my game and kind of put my game in their hands and allowing them to guide me and to coach me. I would also say, I mean, a good bit of it's just like some comfortability within the system. I understood Mike. I understood what he wanted. I understood with the offense,

you know, kind of needed and where I could kind of fit in that role. So I think for that,

it's just like, you know, every day showing up and trying to improve each and every day and

trying to get more comfortable so that when the opportunity comes and the balls in my hands,

I can do something with it. I love how you said you got really

comfortable with Mike and knowing the offense and now that's completely gone and you're having to

learn a whole new system. Hopefully that's going to go really well for you. I'm sure you're going to do
