Tell me about your writing process.

My big thing is that I, things have to sit for me. I think this is the biggest mistake people

make. You write something and then you should put it in a drawer and come back to it because only

if you fall out of love with it and forget about it, can you see what's wrong with it and how to

improve it? How long of a cooling off? As long as I can. I mean, you can't always,

but if I can let it sit for two weeks, I'm happy. If I can let it sit for six months, I'm even

happier. Time is this crucial element in the creative process. And I feel we sometimes we

fetishize this particular skill of doing something quickly, and I think that's a mistake.

We shouldn't. You shouldn't get points for being quick. You should get points for like arranging your life so that you can take the appropriate amount of time for something.
