0:00.0	What's up everybody? I had to reschedule today's recording because something came up for my guest last minute. It was going to be a very timely conversation
0:14.3	about assassinations and terrorism with someone who's an expert in the field, but that's
0:20.3	okay. We're going to record it at a later date and honestly
0:23.8	It's going to give me more time to do my customary deep dives, which I wasn't able to do today for this because it was so timely
0:29.9	So instead I'm going to share some thoughts that I have about what has been a truly tumultuous
0:38.1	week in politics so far and for the country.
0:42.2	I'm recording this on Thursday afternoon, July 18th. We're
0:47.3	talking about like five days since the failed assassination attempt against
0:51.4	Donald Trump and in the middle of RNC week. failed assassination fits into everything. It's wild because the last episode that I released was with Henry Olson and we recorded that right before this happened and it was really focused on what was the biggest use, which was Biden's apparent decline, health decline, rapid decline, nonlinear decline in
1:16.7	cognitive abilities and his debate performance.
1:20.0	And subsequently we've seen a number of interviews and also teleprompter appearances where
1:25.1	Biden looks like he's really losing it.
1:26.8	I'm expecting him to be replaced or to be to officially step down from the re-election bid any day now.
1:34.4	Maybe we can talk about that too.
1:35.6	So, but let's just go back to Donald Trump,
1:39.1	because this is a huge story.
1:40.7	And we're gonna talk also about the story about the story, kind of the
1:44.7	meta narrative here too. Let's start first of all with like what happened,
1:48.5	right? Factually what we know happened because then I want to get into
1:51.1	what I think is more interesting which is the public's reaction and how all of this is being perceived and what the implications are.
