Summary

Last night, a fumbling Joe Biden faced serial liar Donald Trump in the first live debate of the campaign. Now, America faces a choice: a visibly aging man who failed to live up to that moment, or an authoritarian convicted felon facing even more courtroom trials ahead. Few people are as well placed to discuss than veteran Democratic party strategist Simon Rosenberg and Marc Lotter, who served as special assistant to President Trump and was director of strategic communications in his 2020 campaign. They join Christiane from Atlanta, where the debate was held last night.  Also on today's show: CNN senior correspondent Fred Pleitgen & New York Times reporter Farnaz Fassihi; columnist and author Francis Barry  Learn more about your ad choices.
