Williams took a no-hitter into the ninth inning. Eno, you might be right. Your Gavin Williams' prediction might just be happening over the course of the second half of the season. Hey, you never know. Still got some runway to get that one down. So I'm curious to see where that goes. We've got some baseball news you should know today, starting with Jen Powell. She's going to be the first woman to umpire in an MLB regular season game.

That's going to happen this weekend.

She'll be behind the plate on Sunday.

That debut is going to come Saturday as part of a Braves Marlins doubleheader.

I saw some great background stuff in the wind-up newsletter that Levi Weaver puts together

for The Athletic, and it linked back to a story that Richard Roli had actually written about Jen a year ago.

She became a AAA crew chief and has kind of been on this path of making history for a few years now.

The people that have worked with her have basically said, yeah, this is going to happen.

Jen's going to be the first woman to get that opportunity at the big league level.

Some great history of some other women that have gone down that road and topped out in the upper levels of the minor leagues and run into all sorts of obstacles along the way.

But this is exciting.

We've seen women in the NFL, seen it in the NBA, and now Major League Baseball finally getting on board here in

2025 with the arrival of Jim Powell. I love it. I can't imagine wanting to have that job.

Just generally, just wanting to be an umpire. It takes a special type of person to be like, yeah,

I'll take that heat. I'll take that criticism. And once you are that type of person, I don't think that the gender matters much. You're just that kind of person. You know what I mean? Like, I don't know anything about her. I'm sure she's just ready to go toe to toe with anybody. It's not for the meek. No. No, it is not. But looking forward to seeing that as the weekend arrives.

Some other baseball news you should know Michael King is going to be back in the rotation for the Padres on Saturday. I think that was the explanation for the, why did J.P. Sears go down? And I'm a little bummed by that. I think J.P. Sears is going to matter for the Padres at some point this year.

And Trevor, one of my arguments about J.P. Sears, the trade deadline was that he gets out of the hitter haven that is Sutter Health Park in Sacramento.

But he also gets into an organization that's good at developing pitching, right?
