Summary

We cannot force fresh starts. They come when they want to come, and they always begin inside of us. Martha describes the feeling of being “fed up” as crucial to catalyzing sweeping change, but also explains the concept of being “full fed.” A caterpillar cannot become a butterfly unless it is full fed, meaning plump enough to sustain its transformation. 0:09.3	Today's topic, all you lovely people from everywhere out there, today's topic is making a fresh start.
0:19.6	Okay, so a fresh start, yes, is what I need to do right now. I spent all
0:27.8	week inside a like six by eight foot black box of a room recording an audio book, which is a great
0:35.0	thrill and I'm really, you know, so grateful to have done it.
0:39.8	And it's weird because you're in a little black box for several days with no one there.
0:44.9	And of course, with COVID, I'd go in there like all masked and everything, and then I'd have
0:48.2	to take off all my flanges so that I could do the audiobook.
0:54.1	And then I came out and it was like, wait, I've come out
0:59.1	into the light of day again. It's time to make a fresh start. And I was, my first day home,
1:06.0	I found myself just unable to tolerate the way things were situated in the house.
1:12.6	You know COVID house. Do you have COVID house? We have COVID house.
1:16.6	Which is not like we're living in heaps of our own garbage or anything.
1:20.6	But it's like, okay, we've got a lot of things to donate to Goodwill, but nobody's going to see the living room for at least another six months.
1:30.2	So let's put them in there.
1:32.7	Little, you know, okay, extra cooking pots.
1:35.5	Well, we'll just put them in the parlor or wherever.
1:39.3	So there's all these things in weird places around our house because of COVID.
1:43.2	And that was fine with me until it
1:44.9	wasn't. And when it wasn't, it really wasn't. And I spent all yesterday like completely changing
1:51.3	around everything in the house. And now we're all into it and we're shifting everything around.
